Wing X Report #3
COL Domi 7/9/2008
Greetings members of Wing X and fellow TC Flags welcome to the weekly Wing X report.
Wing News
Well now we wait for the other shoe to fall, as they say. The results of the squadron review are now over and I must say I was a tad disappointed in the number of responses received, particularly when this was also an FO-sponsored AWOL check and failure to respond risked being removed from the roster.
Even as we wait for the Flight Offices decision, our ship has taken another hit in the command structure with the resignation and Reserves transfer of Thunder CMDR, CPT Solaris Darthinian. Good luck in school and I hope you can find your way back some day.
On a more positive note, we do have a couple new faces in Wing X but first Id be remiss if I did not make note that last week I reported that CM Cabbel had transferred to Thunder Squadron, Apparently I should do a better job of keeping track as he was actually transferred to Typhoon Squadron. Sorry about that.
Now, on to the new arrivals. We have two newcomers this week with Sub-Lieutenants Reginald Q. Dork and Psyntience both joining Cyclone Squadron amid some pretty impressive recruiting by CMDR Vertigo. Good luck in your new assignments, Sub-Lieutenants.
I mentioned something just now that I hope each and every one of you understood recruitment. Most, if not all, of the tough decisions to be made in the next few days would be averted if we had more members. Thus recruiting is more important now than ever before. And I dont just mean contacting the Cadets or the Reserves (though both can work), rather I mean talk to your friends, family, acquaintances, fellow gamers, and fellow Star Wars enthusiasts and urge them to give the TC a shot. Theres plenty to do, lots of people to meet from a myriad of places and you can even learn a few things from computer basics, to scripting languages and basic leadership skills.
As you may have noticed, I have not done any work on the homepage of the ISD Challenge. I hope to get the data updated soon but I would like to see a redesign or something if possible. If any of you are into web work, I would like to speak with you about taking on a project.
I am putting together the final details of a Wing-wide competition that Id like to hold in August or September It will feature a good old fashioned run-on, a fiction comp, graphics comp, and flight comp (naturally).
Speaking of competitions, there are a couple of new ones out from the Operations Office. One is a graphics comp for a new banner and the other is a trivia comp. Details on these and all other currently running competitions can be found in the Competitions section below.

Training Office Recruiting Challenge
Start: 2/23/2008
End: 2/1/2009
Details: It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the Emperor's Hammer is suffering due to too many members leaving or being removed, and not enough fresh blood joining to take their places. That is why I am offering a very generous reward to those that are passionate enough to bring others into our club. This is an offer that likely will only be offered once, so I encourage everyone to participate. The event is as follows:
The first officer to successfully recruit five NEW, active members to the Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps will receive the Iron Star - Platinum Ribbon. These new recruits must enter the Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps and successfully be assigned to a squadron after completing Platform Daedalus training. There are very specific rules to be followed if you wish to receive your reward.
1. The recruited pilot MUST list you as the recruiting officer when he joins. If he forgets, he must personally email me explaining that he forgot to list you for proper credit.
2. Once the recruited pilot has completed training and is assigned to a squadron, YOU must email me to let me know of this, giving me the pilot's PIN so that I may verify. I will not be monitoring new assignments myself, so it is up to you to let me know so that I may give you proper credit.
3. Do not even try to create clones. The database is designed to catch attempted cloners, and I will personally be watching any new pilots claiming to have been recruited. If I find that anyone has created a clone to give themselves credit for this competition, I will recommend the most severe punishment possible. In addition to the IS-PR, I will reward every officer with an IS-BR if they have successfully recruited any pilot during the course of the competition but was not the first to reach five. The IS-BRs will be awarded after the IS-PR is awarded, or until the competition comes to a close with no victor. This competition will last for one year starting today or until an officer recruits five pilots to the TIE Corps, whichever comes first.
Medals: IS-PR, IS-SR
FCHG 08
Start: 4/1/2008
End: 9/30/2008
Details: It's time for another FCHG mission creation competition. This one will run from April 1st to September 30th. Any submissions must meet the following rules:
1. The battle must be at least 6 missions long
2. The battle must involve the combined forces from two or more (active) EH subgroups
3. The plotline must involve the EH as a whole
4. The mission creators must have passed MCBS and the appropriate mission creation course
5. Cooperation on battles is allowed, but only two people can win the IS-PR
6. All submissions must be via e-mail to the TAC directly at tac.at.emperorshammer.org
7. All submissions must include the pilot file used to test the battle
8. The use of patches is allowed
Medals: IS-PR/GR/SR for 1st/2nd/3rd
TACcy Quotes
Start: 1/1/08
End: 12/31/08
Details: In each TAC report of 2008, there will be a TACcy Quote. First person to let me know from which movie it is wins an IS-BR. If you win a 3rd time, you get an IS-GR
Medals: IS-BR (and sometimes IS-GR)
Name That TOon!
Start: 5/14/2008
End: 12/31/2008
Details: This competition is in a similar vein to Dempsey's "TACcy Quote", but with a twist. I will include a sound clip with each of my reports with a small sample of a "hit" song; participants have to identify that song to win. A win garners you an IS-BR, three wins gets you an IS-GR
Medals: IS-BR (IS-GR for three wins)
Respectfully submitted,
