Wing X Report #31
COL Daniel Bonini 10/2/2006
Wing X Weekly Report #31 – 02nd of October 2006
Introduction
Hello, pilots,
A new, very big, TCBG flying competition is right around the corner. It will decide which Squadron is supposed to be the TCBG Escort Squadron. Every pilot is required to fly at least their squadron’s designed battle, but there are many more to fly....fly as much as you can, for the glory of our ship, which is also competing to be the Flagship of the TCBG....This title belongs to the Chal already, so let’s defend it!!!
Shame on me, I forgot to name August Wing X Pilot of the Month, but fear not, because I have requested the award of both August’s and September’s pilots of the month. So, with no further delay, let’s announce the winners. The Wing X Pilot of the Month for August was LC Dirty Vader!!! The Wing X Pilot of the Month for September was CM Kal J’qan!!! Congratulations to both of you....your IS-SRs are on the way :)
There were a lot of MoC awards today...check the Medal Awards section and check if your name is there :)
We are waiting for the results of both Summer Patrol and TCBG Trivia competitions; I hope there will be medals all around for Wing X personnel...
I was considering throwing a flying competition at you this month, but due to Talons massive flying comp, I’ve decided to change it to a Fiction competition. Here is how it will go: in the date of 9th of October, I will be having my seventh Tie Corps anniversary. The theme for the fiction is that we will have a big party in the Challenge and every Wing X member is invited. Submissions will be graded by me according to humor and quality of the story. Grammar will not be an issue! This comp will run from right now until the day of the anniversary, the 9th. The medals to be awarded are an IS-SR for the first place and an IS-BR for the second. These are very easy medals, people, and there is only one week to complete the fiction, which doesn’t have to be long....Just go ahead and write something!!

Competitions
* Dan’s 7th TIE Corps Anniversary
Wing X Commander Daniel Bonini is having his seventh anniversary as a TIE Corps member next 9th of October. There is going to be a party and every Wing X member is invited. This is the theme for this fiction competition that involves all Wing X pilots. Submissions will be graded according to quality of the story and humor. English grammar will not be an issue. IS-SR for the first place and IS-BR for the runner up. Deadline is the day of the party, October 9th.
* TCBG Escort Squadron Competition
The scoring rules are simple or complicated depending on how you want to view it. Each squadron chooses a battle that a majority of his squadron can fly and is betting that his squadron will defeat all the other squadrons in the battle group. If the squadron has an even split of platforms, chose the one that the commander can also fly. That is the first phase of the competition (choosing the battle). Once all the battles are chosen, they are released to the battle group and you have 1 month to complete your squadron's battle and as many of the other battles as you can. Only your squadron's battle is mandatory for the competition. Wing Commanders and Commodores are encouraged to fly these but are not required. When submitting the score, send it to your CMDR who will BSF your pilot file and have in the notes area written "For the Escort Squadron Competition" as well as any other notes required for processing by the Flight Office. I will be looking for this note to record the Battle Score. Once the scores are collected, I will add up the entire Squadron's Score for that battle and divide it by the number of people in the squadron that can fly the given battle. This average battle score will be added to all the others for a final top squadron score. Each battle will be listed separately as well as having the over all scores. Squadrons that host will add 100 points for every squadron they defeat in their battle chosen. For example: Squadron "A" chose TIE-TC001 as their battle. They have 5 of the 8 members of the squadron that can fly TIE. I received 4 submissions. Their total score for the battle is 144,357. I divide this by 5 to get 28,871.400. I then check to see how many other squadrons have played this battle and their standings. For every squadron that squadron "A" has a higher score for the host battle in, I add 100 points. No points are added for those that have defeated this squadron. This is then added to the other battles flown and calculated in the same manner. The scores are compared and the winning squadron is the one with the most points at the end of October. Each week, I will release the current standings for each squadron. Individual standing is not being tracked. This is a squadron level competition and the more in the squadron that participates, the better your chances are that you will win.
Place Medal Notes
1st IS-GW Named BGCOM's Escort Squadron 2006/11/01 to 2007/10/31
2nd IS-SW
3rd IS-BW
The ship with the highest percentage of participants just might be named the 2007 Flagship of the Battle Group. ^_^!!!
* RA Pellaeon’s new uniform
After RA Pellaeon’s appointment to Commodore of the Redemption he needs a new uniform for his profile. But he doesn't want a simple made with TTT. It can be used for help, but it must be edited with a gfx program to be something special. Including the TC Medalcase in it would be nice too. The whole Battle Group is allowed to participate in the competition. Send your entrys to Delta-1@gmx.de and don’t forget to cc your superiors, so that they can count it as activity for you. There will be an IS-GR for the first place, an IS-SR for the second place and an IS-BR for the third. Deadline is October 15th. Get to it!!
* Battle Group Trivia Competition
A simple trivia competition for all members of the Battle Group. Each week there will be a set of Star Wars trivia questions on the TCBG message board. The pilot who gets the most correct answers in the shortest time wins. IS-GR for first place, IS-SR for second and IS-BR for the third. There may also be additional awards for participation.
Ended...expecting the results anytime now...
* Imperial Propoganda
A recent news post on the TC page (http://www.ehtiecorps.org/news.asp#3988) entitled Intelligence Report Procedures. It came across as "Do you want to spy on your friends, and get them in trouble for having fun? Do so today, and earn medals in the ID!" Well, your task, if you choose to accept it, is to make a mock-piece-of-propoganda. It's Intel, so shouldn't be too hard. Make a mock-news-post making fun of this, and earn a medal! Any submissions go to myself, but also cc Coranel so he can check whatever it is you are doing...IS-SR for the first place, and IS-BR for the second!!! Deadline is the end of this month or whenever Coranel returns!!
* COM’s Uniform Competition
Despite holding a "make me a uniform" competition as BGCOM just a few months ago, Coranel is once again in need of a new custom uniform, as he is now ChalCOM! So make him a new one! IS-SR to the winner and IS-BR to 2nd place! Runs until August 31st, or whenever Coranel get’s back...
* Ace of the Tie Corps
Starting this month, we now have a new monthly competition series - Ace of the TIE Corps. The concept is simple - the pilot with the most flown missions at the end of each month will recieve an Iron Star with Gold Wings and the title "Ace of the Month". You will be able to see the progress of pilots over time by checking the Pilot Kill Board. At the end of the year, the pilot with the most missions flown will recieve an Iron Star with Platinum Wings and the title of "Ace of the TIE Corps".
The competition is open to all members of the TIE Corps and the counts are based on missions. Thus a battle will earn you more points than a free mission. The June 2006 division of the competition will end on 30th June, so get flying. Good luck!
* Imperial Alliance Propoganda Festival
Submit content to help promote Imperial Alliance. This can include banners, slogans, etc. The best entry each week will get an IS-GR. The best entry overall will be selected when Imperial Alliance is released and will be awarded an IS-PR. Email entries to propoganda@ehtiecorps.org. Competition will run through January 30th, 2007.
* Quote of the Week competition
Got some funny IRC quotes? Send them in! Top 3 submissions per week earn an IS-BR; top 3 submissions per month earn an IS-SR; IS-PR to the yearly winner, IS-GR to second best yearly submission, and a IS-SR to the third best yearly submissions. Email the quotes to FA Joe (Noon001@aol.com). Only rules are they must have been said within the last 2 weeks (no old, archived quotes) and you can't send in quotes of things that you have said. Must be amusing things others have said. Competition will run through January 21st, 2007.
* Wing X Pilot of the Week/Month 2
Each week the Wing X Commander will choose a pilot he believes has performed better then any other pilot on the ship that week. At the end of the month, Challenge Commodore will look at the overall performance of every Pilot of the Week for that month, and will choose one of them to become the Pilot of the Month. Each Pilot of the Week will be awarded an IS-BR and each Pilot of the Month will be awarded an IS-SR. The Wing X Pilot of the week will always be chosen in the “Dark Lord of the Week” Section of this report.
Dark Lord of the Week
The highly prestigious title of Dark Lord of the Week is only given to the person who has most advanced the success of the Wing, amused the Wing Commander, or slipped me the most $5 notes in a brown paper bag. The Dark Lord of the Week is also the ISD Challenge’s Pilot of the Week, and so gets an IS-BR. This week's winner is:
CPT Murleen, for flying, and doing all Omicron’s paperwork!!!
Ewok of the Week
Yub Yub!
Every story has a hero, every journey has a first step, every Fleet has a pilot who's about as much use as an ashtray on a speeder bike. This weeks's Prize Ewok is none other than:
I can’t think of anybody...hmm.....I think.....no, no.....oh, why not....P!!!!! :)
Quote of the Week
CM Quincy Nelson, Subjugator’s Slayer Commander: “You might as well name the ISD Subjugator the winner. Because we are the pride and backbone of the fleet. Plus Slayer is going to win.. Between the squads.”
Right....I think we’ll just have to show him why the Challenge is the actual Flagship...and between the squadrons, I’ll be cheering for all of you....let’s nail them!!!

Great work, really...I’m very proud of all of you!!
Conclusion
Great. I believe we are ready to face the opposition in the upcoming competition. We must retain the title of Flagship of the TCBG for the Challenge, and I want to see the Wing X’s Squadrons competing for the first place with one of you becoming the new TCBG Escort Squadron (or keeping the title, for Typhoon). Just remember, the more you fly, higher are the chances of us winning this thing. Also, don’t forget to participate in the other competitions, because there are plenty of easy medals going around.
You know what you have to do people, and I’m here to provide assistance in anything you need, so don’t hesitate to ask. Make me proud, boys and girls!!!
