ISD Challenge Report #14

ISD Challenge Weekly Report #14

ISD Challenge Weekly Report #14 – 15th of January 2007

Introduction

Greetings,

I’m sorry for the lateness of this report, had real life issues to attend to.

On with it, this was not a good week to the Challenge. We lost one of our oldest members. CPT Rover was AWOL’ed, leaving Tornado Squadron with only four pilots. The sad thing is that he might not have been the only one. There will be more losses by the end of the week, since the Challenge will be cleaning its roster of any inactive pilots. Understand that inactive pilots are the pilots that won’t even bother enough to communicate with his/her Squadron Commander. So, if you have not been in touch for a while, make sure you contact your Commanders by the end of the week.

This will make our numbers fall even more, and thus making me emphasize even more the need to recruit. I know that there are some people doing a good job and recruiting, and we will see the fruits of this hard work soon enough. But we need more, so go out there and start recruiting.

It appears that our pilots are not the only ones getting AWOL’ed. The Training Officer himself seems to be AWOL, and GA Astatine will be handling the IWATS Core and competition approvals for the time being...here’s why Wing X Pilot of the Week/Month 3 took so long to get approved :(

Admiral Master went on leave, and so highscores will take a little longer to be processed, since not even his CA can process them. If you have a highscore pending, it might take a while. But before he went on leave, he recommended the medals for the TIE Golf competition. So, congrats to me, Saul and Diaboli for getting some shinies ;)

I’ve been helping LT Zosite with a few TIE tactics to get highscores. What we’re doing is that he picks a free mission sometimes, and we both fly the mission, and discuss tactics to achieve the highscore. This week we flew TIE-Free 217. Since I’d like to be equal among my pilots, you are all free to do the same. Let me know if any of you is interested in it.

HA Frodo March wants to know if we want to do some multiplayer tournaments for Star Wars Battlefront 2 in the TIE Corps. Give your answer at http://mb.emperorshammer.net/viewtopic.php?t=4399. I’ll not respond, since, sadly, I have never played Battlefront 2...

LOA is open for applications. The LOA will be responsible for working with the Wiki.

Omega Squadron Commander position is open for applications.

Competitions

* Make the LO a New Banner Graphic
Make the LO a new banner for the LO website. The only limits is that it conforms with the pic that is currently in use, ie. similar dimensions and similar colours to the current websites colour scheme. Entries can be sent to the LO at lo@emperorshammer.org. Comp closes at the end of January. IS-GW to the one the LO chooses.

* TO’s Own
The title of Training Officer's Own will be awarded to the ship whose pilots pass the most IWATS courses per pilot in each month. For the purposes of this competition, Omega and Praetorian Elite Squadrons will be judged as separate ship-equivalent entities. IS-BR for the participating pilots.

* TIE Corps Training Competition
Every Saturday, 1300 to 1600 EST on #EHCOO
Multiplayer competition with XWA, XvT and IA. DFCs can be awarded.

* Master's Monthly Map Mayhem
Start Date: 10/1/2006
Parties Involved: EH-wide
Medals: IS-GR, IS-SR, IS-BR (or subgroup equivalent) each month.
According to the System Manual (
http://sysman.emperorshammer.net/) the EH is in control of ten systems.
Each month Master is going to pick a planet from one of the EH Controlled Systems* from the manual. Those interested will then have the remainder of the month to create a Empire at War or SW Galactic Battlegrounds or Jedi Academy map based on that planet.

*Master may throw in the odd other planet from SW from time to time with more bonuses.
Designers are free to do as they like with the map provided basics stay true to the System Manual information.
Maps will be judged on: Technical realization (use wat u got), general plotline & general enjoyment.
All maps should be submitted ala standard TACcy Rules and via the Custom BSF (
http://tac.emperorshammer.net/tacdb/batsubmit.asp)
All maps will be judged by TAC.

* Ace of the Tie Corps
Starting this month, we now have a new monthly competition series - Ace of the TIE Corps. The concept is simple - the pilot with the most flown missions at the end of each month will recieve an Iron Star with Gold Wings and the title "Ace of the Month". You will be able to see the progress of pilots over time by checking the Pilot Kill Board. At the end of the year, the pilot with the most missions flown will recieve an Iron Star with Platinum Wings and the title of "Ace of the TIE Corps".
The competition is open to all members of the TIE Corps and the counts are based on missions.

* Imperial Alliance Propoganda Festival
Submit content to help promote Imperial Alliance. This can include banners, slogans, etc. The best entry each week will get an IS-GR. The best entry overall will be selected when Imperial Alliance is released and will be awarded an IS-PR. Email entries to propoganda@ehtiecorps.org. Competition will run through January 30th, 2007.

* Frozen Doom Competition
The weekly multiplayer combat calendar events are returning! Starting with the Frozen Doom Competition!!! It will be held on Tuesdays from 1900 EST to 2200 EST!
Host is GN Ric Taldrya! Matches take place in #EHCOO, COME ONE COME ALL!
Having said that, DFCs will no longer be awarded for 24/7 LoCs. They will only be awarded for winning combat calendar events. If you do fly a 24/7 LoC match, e-mail the scores to
coo@emperorshammer.org.

* Quote of the Week competition
Got some funny IRC quotes? Send them in! Top 3 submissions per week earn an IS-BR; top 3 submissions per month earn an IS-SR; IS-PR to the yearly winner, IS-GR to second best yearly submission, and a IS-SR to the third best yearly submissions. Email the quotes to FA Joe (Noon001@aol.com). Only rules are they must have been said within the last 2 weeks (no old, archived quotes) and you can't send in quotes of things that you have said. Must be amusing things others have said. Competition will run through January 21st, 2007.

* Wing X Pilot of the Week/Month 3
Each week the Wing X Commander will choose a pilot he believes has performed better then any other pilot on the ship that week. At the end of the month, Challenge Commodore will look at the overall performance of every Pilot of the Week for that month, and will choose one of them to become the Pilot of the Month. Each Pilot of the Week will be awarded an IS-BR and each Pilot of the Month will be awarded an IS-SR. The Wing X Pilot of the week will always be chosen in the Wing Commander’s report.

Dark Lord of the Week

The highly prestigious title of Dark Lord of the Week is only given to the person who has most advanced the success of the Ship, amused the Commodore, or slipped me the most $5 notes in a brown paper bag. This week's winner is:

LT Zosite Konstyte Styles, for flying tons!!!

Ewok of the Week

Yub Yub!

Every story has a hero, every journey has a first step, every Fleet has a pilot who's about as much use as an ashtray on a speeder bike. This weeks's Prize Ewok is none other than:

CPT Rover, for being AWOL’ed...so long, my friend, return as soon as you can...

Quote of the Week

Zosite: “By the way, Lieutenant Colonel Dirty Vader is a great opponent, indeed!! Too bad he left us for Praetorian... :-\”

Yeah, I’ll say...

Conclusion

It has being a little tough. But I’m glad we have some pretty good people in this ship. These guys do their jobs and go beyond, and they are an example of commitment to the Challenge. I am proud of you.

I have one thing I’d like to ask you all: don’t get AWOL’ed. Besides that, help the Challenge grow in strength, by helping your Commander in any way he needs, especially in recruiting. Have a great week, and always be active, except when RL tells you not to ;)
