Challenge COMMODORE'S LOG
02.13.06 Imperial Calendar
The rebel and pirate
forces have been pushed back to their base at 32 by 53 by 7, a system
orbiting a dead star that Navigation reports has been dead for approximately
1000 years. The enemy has managed to regroup and is fighting furiously
to hold their base with a pair of Assault Frigates, but the VSD Formidable
was able to make short work of the enemy with the help of Tornado
Squadron.
Coranel reports extensive
action by Inferno and Cyclone Squadron as we prepare to surround and
eliminate the enemy. With Captain Shrike back on the ship following
a brief leave, I feel confident that the pirates will soon be eliminated.

Hiyo ISD Challenge,
The Beat the COM competition
ended earlier this week, and I'm delighted (and simultaneously) ashamed
that you all kicked the crap out of me. Daniel actually managed to
double my score, which is incredible. I look forward to seeing what
he can do against the Sovereign come March.
Speaking of the Sovereign,
Stele has officially accepted our challenge, and the Sovereign vs
Challenge competition is on for March! I don't think I need to tell
you guys that this will be a prestigious competition, with the eyes
of the fleet and the higher-ups upon us. I know that you all want
to beat the Sov as much as I do, so I don't think I need to say how
much I'm looking forward to this.
In the meantime, some
new events on the Challenge this week. You should all have gotten
an email about the Wing X Aces competition, along with notice about
the beginning of TIE Golf. TIE Golf ends in the next 24 hours, and
from there we will be launching the Great ISD Challenge FCHG Race!
With the flying that guys like Nicholas and Wolf Black have been doing
this past week, I'm pretty excited about the loads and loads of pilot
files that will surely be filling my inbox soon (as they have this
week). The Mutt stole our TCCOM's Own award right before Khadgar's
unfortunate departure, so it's up to us to favorably impress whoever
the new guy is. I know we can do it. ^^

Ship News
- Unfortunate things
happening in the fleet with the removal of Slagar from CollieCOM and
Khadgar's departure from the FO spot. As always, we will soon be back
on track, I hope. Life goes on.
- January recommendations
were processed and all medals are in. Have a look to the left to see
what everybody got. ^6^
- Happy Birthday to
the ISD Challenge, which celebrated its 10th Anniversary in February!
I'm proud to be in command of the best ship in the fleet, a ship with
a proud legacy. Let's make the next 10 years awesome.
- Congratulations to
Captain Rover (Tempest), Commander Impulse
(Tempest), Captain Shrike (Cyclone),
Colonel Mike (Cyclone) and Major Narshay
(Inferno) on being named Wing X Aces
for January! Further congratulations to Major
Nicholas (Cyclone) for being named Wing
X January Top Ace!
- I made a bunch of patches for the ISD Challenge for IA: http://mb.emperorshammer.net/viewtopic.php?t=2767
(Coranel said the Typhoon made him cry blood, so it must be good)
Competion Spotlight
1. TIE Corps Battlegroup Training Night:
The TCBG sponsored MP night. Show up in IRC channel #EHCOO on Saturdays
at 6pm GMT (1pm EST) to win LoC's and DFC's
2.
Quote of the Week competition: Got some
funny IRC quotes? Send them in! Top 3 submissions per week earn an
IS-BR; top 3 submissions per month earn an IS-SR; IS-PR to the yearly
winner, IS-GR to second best yearly submission, and a IS-SR to the
third best yearly submissions. Email the quotes to FA Joe ( Noon001@aol.com
) and FA Gilad ( gpj2331@sbcglobal.net ). Only rules are they must
have been said within the last 2 weeks (no old, archived quotes) and
you can't send in quotes of things that you have said. Must be amusing
things others have said.
3.
Imperial Alliance Propoganda Festival:
Submit content to help promote Imperial Alliance. This can include
banners, slogans, etc. The best entry each week will get an IS-GR.
The best entry overall will be selected when Imperial Alliance is
released and will be awarded an IS-PR. Email entries to propoganda@ehtiecorps.org
4. Challenge Recruitment Competition:
To last from February 1st through March 31st. A two-month long recruitment
comp. The pilot who can recruit the largest number of new pilots into
the Challenge (including new SL's or old retired vets) will win an
IS-SR; IS-BR to the runner-up.
5.
Fiction Comp: It will last all month,
until February 28th. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ISD
Challenge, a fiction competition. A topic will be announced by the
WC on February 1st; best fiction will win an IS-SR, and an IS-BR to
the runner-up. Will be judged by Master and myself. The topic is as
follows: "This month is AD Master's fifth anniversary in the
TIE Corps. His anniversary falls on February 14th. Since he is a Challenge
boy, and therefore quite deranged, he is throwing a huge party on
the Challenge (cause he certainly couldn't throw it on the Sovereign.
You know how those Sov types get)."
6.
Graphics Comp: It will last all month,
until February 28th. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ISD
Challenge, a graphics competition. A topic will be announced by the
WC on February 1st; best graphic will win an IS-SR, and an IS-BR to
the runner-up. Will be judged by me. The topic is as follows: I'm
thinking about putting a new banner up for the Wing X banner. I like
the old one, but I'd be interested to see what else can be put there
instead. So make a replacement banner for me, if I like it more than
the old one, it'll go up.
7. TIE
Golf: To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ISD Challenge,
a TIE Golf
competition. All pilots will fly TIE-FREE #14 (http://www.ehtiecorps.org/battles/battle.asp?battletype=9&battlenumber=149).
Their goal is to get the absolutely lowest score possible. Scores
will be your non-laserless score; you must complete the primary objectives;
and no destroying all of your own craft to get negative points. IS-SW
to the lowest score, IS-BW to the second lowest score.

ISD 'Challenge' COMMODORE'S PERSONAL LOG
02.13.06 Imperial
Calendar
New faces continue to
impress aboard the ISD Challenge. Citations should go to Commander
Nicholas, Major Narshay and Lt. Blacker for their exemplary courage
in the line of duty. The Challenge is hitting on all cylinders now,
and I'm confident that we will soon flush the rebels and pirates from
their hole. End of personal log.
