ISD Challenge Weekly Report #2
ISD Challenge Weekly Report #2 –
23rd of October 2006 |
 |
Introduction |
Greetings,
Darklord has issued his first report today...check it out in your
inbox :)
I’ll try now to make my reports look good when I upload them, by
doing it with Frontpage....let’s see how it goes....but in the
mailing list it might as well look the same, since I don’t use
Outlook and have to copy/paste my reports to the webmail...
I actually joined #Wing_X on IRC this week....it’s been quite a
while, but it seems that it’s working....yey me!!!
Greatest news this week was the recovery of the Challenge website.
It still needs a lot of work, but we’ll get there. If you have
anything that might be interesting to upload there, like an image or
fiction, send it to me and Darklord :) And check out our progress at
http://isdchallenge.tcbg.net
Saddest news this week was that the ISD Challenge veteran LC Chris
McCollum was expelled from the TIE Corps. This is a shame...
Well...today I start a new kind of report, on which there will be
less mention to internal wing affairs, which was passed on to
Darklord, and I’ll focus more on external things. Of course, we are
still learning how to work like this, and I’ll need some time to
adjust, but it’ll be ok...so from now on, I’ll still choose a Dark
Lord of the Week and a Ewok of the Week, but Darklord will decide
the Wing X Pilot of the Week and make the award ;)
Well....let’s see....first external issue I’d like to address is the
TCBG Escort Squadron and Flagship comp. I’m not happy at all with
our performance so far, since Red Squadron has the lead of the
competition. People, fly your battles....we cannot afford to loose
this competition. Your pilot’s battle is MANDATORY. The others are
bonuses, but should be flown as much as you can. This is very
important. I am myself flying all the battles. ALL OF THEM!!! Get to
work...
The second is the coming FO Flagship competition. It will start in
November, and we will have the chance to get back at the
Sovereign...stay tuned ;)
These were competitions we will face as a group. But if you’re
looking for individual Challenge’s as well, join Master’s TIE Golf
competition. You have two days to join...
As you heard, Freeworlds is back. HA Frodo is giving out IS-BWs to
anyone who kills him in FW :) His nick is “Frothy”. Go hunt, but
don’t get HCI’d for it :D
I guess Darklord didn’t put in his report because he wasn’t WC yet
when it happened, but the last MWE recommendation was awarded this
week: congratulations to CM Kal J’qan for being awarded a Bronze
Star of the Empire. This is a tough award to get, and Kal deserves
it a lot....congrats!!!!
And also congrats to everyone who have completed the TIE Corps
Summer Patrol. RA Daniel Bonini, CM Gward, CPT Murleen and CPT Great
Griffin. Congrats to all of us, for we deserved our IS-GWs :)

Competitions |
* Name the Flagship Competition
Find a name for the new TCCOM competition that will determine the
Flagship of the TIE Corps! Win an IS-SR for simple thinking! The
competition that needs to be named is going to be in the form of a
supremacy competition, and similar to the ASF SC and TCBG ECR
competitions of old! Deadline is October 30th.
* Kill the TCCOM!
Every time
Frothy is dueled and killed in Freeworlds, the pilot who did so wins
an IS-BW! This is only for the emperorshammer's Freeworld server!
http://freeworlds.emperorshammer.net/.
Deadline is December 15th. You get an IS-BW for killing “Frothy”.
* TCCOM Flagship
Competition
(until the “Name the Flagship Competition” ends with the actual comp
name)
1. The "____________" competition will involve all ships in the TIE
Corps in an all out supremacy competition up against each other.
Each ship runs the chance of being the Flagship of the TIE Corps. In
order to be the best, the ships will be attempting to gain points,
the ship with the most points wins.
2. Points can be gained in two ways:
A) Pilot/Squadron activity
AND
B) Bonus point competitions
3. Pilot activity points will be awarded on the basis of:
I. Single Player Flying Activity= 1 point per mission
II. Mission high score= An additional point per mission high score
III. Battle high score= An additional point per mission in the
battle (not cumulative with II.)
IV. Multiplayer win (XWA or XvT)= 10 points
V. Multiplayer loss (XWA or XvT)= 5 points
VI. Freeworlds mission passed= 5 points
VII. Freeworlds duel win= 10 points
VIII. Freewrolds duel loss= 5 points
IX. Graphics submissionfiltered= 1 to 10 points
X. Fiction submission= 1 to 10 points
XI. Mission Created= 1 to 10 points each
XII. IWATS passed= 3 points, 5 if 100%
XIII. FCHG rank increase= 50 points
4. Squadron activity points will be awarded on the basis of:
I. Citations earned*= 10 points each
*Citations that are gained upon the joining of a pilot will not
count towards points*
5. Bonus point competitions
In order to reflect a more quality over quantity side, several
specific competitions will take part during the month of November.
These competitions will be worth astoundingly large amounts of bonus
points, hence, making them ever so worthwhile. This will insure
fairness amongst ships of different sizes, and put less emphasis on
power activity.
I. First bonus competition (first week): Large Scale Fiction Comp =
1000 points to the winning pilot's ship.*
II. Second bonus competition (second week): Single Player
Competition = 1500 points to the winning pilot's ship.
III. Third bonus competition (third week): Large scale MP comp (XvT,
XWA) = 1500 points to the winning pilot's ship
IV. Fourth bonus competition (fourth week): Large Freeworlds
competition = 2000 points to the winning ship.**
*All competitions will have an IS-GW/GR awarded to the winner, in
addition to the points he/she would have earned with that activity.
The bonus points are only on Ship level. Second place receives an
IS-SW/SR, but no bonus.
**The Freeworlds competition will likely be in teams, therefore no
individual winners will be available.
7. Judging
All judgement that calls upon an opinion (Fiction, mission creation,
graphics) will be judged by the JAG, VA Conker. All submissions of
said categories should be sent to the FO and JAG, in addition to
your regular chain of command. All Fiction and graphics submissions
shall also be sent to the EH newsletter.
8. Transfers
Transfers are discouraged during the competitions in order to keep
things as fair as possible. They will ultimately be at the FO's
discretion.
* TCBG Escort
Squadron Competition
The scoring
rules are simple or complicated depending on how you want to view
it. Each squadron chooses a battle that a majority of his squadron
can fly and is betting that his squadron will defeat all the other
squadrons in the battle group. If the squadron has an even split of
platforms, chose the one that the commander can also fly. That is
the first phase of the competition (choosing the battle). Once all
the battles are chosen, they are released to the battle group and
you have 1 month to complete your squadron's battle and as many of
the other battles as you can. Only your squadron's battle is
mandatory for the competition. Wing Commanders and Commodores are
encouraged to fly these but are not required. When submitting the
score, send it to your CMDR who will BSF your pilot file and have in
the notes area written "For the Escort Squadron
Competition" as well as any other notes required for
processing by the Flight Office. I will be looking for this note to
record the Battle Score. Once the scores are collected, I will add
up the entire Squadron's Score for that battle and divide it by the
number of people in the squadron that can fly the
given battle. This average battle score will be added to all the
others for a final top squadron score. Each battle will be listed
separately as well as having the over all scores. Squadrons that
host will add 100 points for every squadron they defeat in their
battle chosen. For example: Squadron "A" chose TIE-TC001 as their
battle. They have 5 of the 8 members of the squadron that can fly
TIE. I received 4 submissions. Their total score for the battle is
144,357. I divide this by 5 to get 28,871.400. I then check to see
how many other squadrons have played this battle and their
standings. For every squadron that squadron "A" has a higher score
for the host battle in, I add 100 points. No points are added for
those that have defeated this squadron. This is then added to the
other battles flown and calculated in the same manner. The scores
are compared and the winning squadron is the one with the most
points at the end of October. Each week, I will release the current
standings for each squadron. Individual standing is not being
tracked. This is a squadron level competition and the more in the
squadron that participates, the better your chances are that you
will win.

Halloween Banner Prank
Competition 2006
Starts: 10/1/2006
Ends: 10/31/2006
Shiny Bobbles: IS-GR, IS-SR, IS-BR (or subgroup equivalent)
Much like a cool looking phoenix rising from ashes of old so is this
ripper of a competition that prob most of you weren't even here for
the first two times round and was subsequently lost to the ages.
Created by the infamous HA Keiran Idanian waaaaay back in the day
this comp was created basically to make fun of your rivals (and
friends) and have a laugh doing so. Not only that but it’s so easy,
even an idiot with paint (like me) can win a medal. Take either the
splash banner or standard banner from your rival squadron, wing,
ships, battlegroup, clan, house, company etc etc & put a prank on
it! This could go from simply changing some text to 'better suit the
picture' or changing a graphic to 'better suit the text' You can
submit as many submissions as you like (but u can only win one
medal). Any overly insulting submissions will be deleted. All
submission must be emailed to TAC no later than the 31st of October.
* Ace of the Tie
Corps
Starting this month, we now have a new monthly competition series -
Ace of the TIE Corps. The concept is simple - the pilot with the
most flown missions at the end of each month will recieve an Iron
Star with Gold Wings and the title "Ace of the Month". You will be
able to see the progress of pilots over time by checking the
Pilot Kill Board. At the end
of the year, the pilot with the most missions flown will recieve an
Iron Star with Platinum Wings and the title of "Ace of the TIE
Corps".
The competition is open to all members of the TIE Corps and the
counts are based on missions. Thus a battle will earn you more
points than a free mission. The June 2006 division of the
competition will end on 30th June, so get flying. Good luck!
* Imperial Alliance
Propoganda Festival
Submit
content to help promote Imperial Alliance. This can include banners,
slogans, etc. The best entry each week will get an IS-GR. The best
entry overall will be selected when Imperial Alliance is released
and will be awarded an IS-PR. Email entries to
propoganda@ehtiecorps.org.
Competition will run through January 30th, 2007.
* Quote of the Week
competition
Got some
funny IRC quotes? Send them in! Top 3 submissions per week earn an
IS-BR; top 3 submissions per month earn an IS-SR; IS-PR to the
yearly winner, IS-GR to second best yearly submission, and a IS-SR
to the third best yearly submissions. Email the quotes to FA Joe (Noon001@aol.com).
Only rules are they must have been said within the last 2 weeks (no
old, archived quotes) and you can't send in quotes of things that
you have said. Must be amusing things others have said. Competition
will run through January 21st, 2007.
* Wing X Pilot of
the Week/Month 2
Each week the
Wing X Commander will choose a pilot he believes has performed
better then any other pilot on the ship that week. At the end of the
month, Challenge Commodore will look at the overall performance of
every Pilot of the Week for that month, and will choose one of them
to become the Pilot of the Month. Each Pilot of the Week will be
awarded an IS-BR and each Pilot of the Month will be awarded an
IS-SR. The Wing X Pilot of the week will always be chosen in the
Wing Commander’s report.
|
Dark Lord of the
Week |
The highly
prestigious title of Dark Lord of the Week is only given to the
person who has most advanced the success of the Wing, amused the
Wing Commander, or slipped me the most $5 notes in a brown paper
bag. The Dark Lord of the Week is also the ISD Challenge’s Pilot of
the Week, and so gets an IS-BR. This week's winner is:
COL Darklord,
for being
the new Wing X Commander!!!
|
Ewok of the Week |
Yub Yub!
Every story has a
hero, every journey has a first step, every Fleet has a pilot who's
about as much use as an ashtray on a speeder bike. This weeks's
Prize Ewok is none other than:
Dalk, for stepping
down from Inferno CMDR...
|
Quote of the Week |
Darklord: “*bashes
Dalk with an Ewok* - you're not supposed to make me work :P”

Conclusion
|
It took me too long to put this report together. I guess I have to
get used to my new activities, and then it will work out fine. Well,
everything seems to be in place...new WC is ok, website is ok,
Squadron CMDRs are o....DAMMIT DALK!!! Well...what I’m not ok with
is our current standings in the TCBG Escort Squadron competition. Go
fly those battles before the week ends...and have a nice week
everyone ;)
